For some reason I have always thought he was dead.

He is too great to be amongst the living.

He is certainly still alive and kicking. He remastered Holy Mountain, El Topo and Fando Y Lis, and did commentary for them all recently. Hes also still doing the comic book thing as well as writing his psychomagic books. Lastly if he is still doing so, I believe he gives monthly seminars as seen in the "Constellation Jodorowsky" documentary.

it seems this film is talking a long time to make. The release date is 2009, but I bet it gets pushed back.
